I did this for an assignment given in World Drama - draw something with the theme of Mendacity. And since I just read this play in English (and it's my favorite Shakespear play ever! OMG read it XD), and given its theme, was very appropriet.

This image was a huge challenge for me for a few reasons.
1. I never draw men
2. I never draw people free-hand
3. I never draw an actual scene, much less
4. One with several people in it

So, please enjoy my first human image in a while! The scan is slightly weird, but not that bad.

This is the part where Othello and Iago are walking towards Desdemona and Cassio is still talking to her about convincing her husband to return Cassio his job. Iago says "I like not that..." and that snags Othello's attention. Iago then proceeds to suggest that sweet Desdemona is unfaithful with Cassio.

Wonderfully done! I draw men very rarely so I struggle with their physiques when I do. This is what I call a complete piece with a story to it you know. A scene with multiple characters. How long did it take you?

I sketched different verions all weekend and since I needed to finish this for monday (and it was something like 8-9 pm on Sunday) I started drawing something and it actually came out the best. Took me somehwere between and hour or two to draw and ink it, which if very quick for me actually. And then I took my 120 color pencil box to school and colored it between clases XD

I suffer with male anatomy too. I love drawing male shoulders, for some reason, but I tend to have trouble with the lack of torso curvature and with the leg region. So this picture was a miracle for me, to actually get it pretty close to right.
