[Edit] - I just told my father, and he gives his consent and support So it's on. College application process, here I come (again)!


This is going to be a huge, and very scary change for me, honestly. I don't know how many of you know that I've been studying molecular biology here in Florida, but several things have made me start to question my choice. I adore biology (I'm such a nerd - I have an evolution t-shirt on right now! ) but I have a math dyslexia that's keeping me from doing well in all the other classes (calc, chem, physics...) so it's been destroying my GPA and confidence, honestly. So after some careful consideration, I think I am going to change my major to medical illustration. It still lets me be in the bio/medical world but does't make me study all the stuff I can't handle.

However, since this degree is only offered in a couple universities, I'm looking at a move from sunny Florida to somewhere like Cleveland or Rochester! Talk about cooold. There's one more in Toronto, but nooo way lol. Rochester is north enough as it is. I hate the cold, frankly, so that is going to suck. And I have my life set up in Florida, so I'm really nervous about leaving my friends completely to move up north. I'd just have my dog and my reptiles D: A little scary, if you ask me.

What's worse is that I haven't even told my dad about the switch yet! D: He is already losing sleep because my sister is in fine arts, I think he'd drop dead if both his girls were in art. My mom is fine with it, but I don't know what my dad's reaction will be. We'll see. But I do see myself being happier in this carreer, so I think it's a good move for me.

The benefit to you guys is that you'll see a lot more art as I try to get a portfolio together!
